An Exceptional Easter of Live Music in Paris
16 January 2018
Immerse Yourself in a Music-Filled Spring Break at Beau Manoir
Such is the allure of Paris in spring, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra are just a few from a long-list of crooners to have sung about the city in April in Paris - and after visiting the capital in this magical month, you will see that their affection is not misplaced. You may even be inspired to burst into song yourself! But should you not be able to find your voice, here’s a few guys who will be more than willing to oblige, as Paris welcomes an exceptional line-up of live music this Easter.
30th March 2018
As the world rejoices Easter, iconic prog-rockers YES will be hosting a little celebration of their own, as the band turns 50! And it just so happens that the birthday party will be held at Paris’ legendary Olympia Hall, to which you’re all invited!
And with an arsenal spanning 21 studio albums, with tens of millions of record sales to their name, why would you not want to join them? Especially when a nostalgia-inducing evening with the band promises to subject you to the prog-rocking sounds of Starship Trooper, the eternal Roundabout; and a personal favourite of ours, Owner of a Lonely Heart.
Which is but a scratch-on-the-surface of the six-decade-long musical journey YES will depart you on! With more thrills and spills arriving in the form of the band’s typically elaborate stage sets; supplemented by a dazzlingly-epic light show (sunglasses at the ready).
3rd April – 4th April 2018
In the grand scheme of things, one might presume it’s a tough time to be an Oasis fan. But is it? Certainly not in Paris at least, when with the departure of one Gallagher brother (Liam) in March, another duly arrives in April (Noel)! Meaning that’s a lot of Oasis tracks we can look forward to.
But lest we forget their respective solo careers, for which Noel’s latest offering - Who Built the Moon? - has been received to rapturous applause! Which is in no small part down to its fearless pursuit of a new path, channelling progressive rockers like YES in hit Holy Mountain; while much-missed Smithsonian riffs shimmer in the anthemic Black & White Sunshine.
Not forgetting Noel’s excellent solo offerings from his previous two albums, where on the evenings you can expect to hear superb singles Heat of the Moment, Everybody’s on the Run and Riverman; before delving into what is surely one of British music’s best back catalogues. Need we say more about Don’t Look Back in Anger, The Masterplan, Champagne Supernova and Wonderwall!
2nd April 2018
For those with a more refined musical palate, the Easter weekend also offers up a stellar selection of classical music performances, with one such highlight arriving in the form of La Madeleine’s annual Easter Concert.
Set within the iconic neoclassical structure of Église de la Madeleine - undoubtedly among the city’s architectural triumphs - this year, the concert will unveil an evening set to the majestic sound of strings, courtesy of Orchestre Les Violons de France; while senior soprano Cécile Bernard will be supplying the virtuoso vocals.
For the occasion, the concert will also adopt a special syllabus of famous Ave Marias and Adagios, spanning masterworks by the likes of Albinoni, Pachelbel, Grieg, Schubert, Mozart and more! Making this one Easter spectacle you will not want to miss out on.
Whether you’re attending these exciting evenings or have something else planned during your next Paris stay, an exceptional spring break awaits you at Amarante Beau Manoir! Where not only will you surround yourself in the splendour of our charming boutique hotel, but will also be able to relish our convenient location just steps from iconic venues like L’Olympia and La Madeleine.
