Christmas Events in Paris Near Beau Manoir
2 December 2016
With the arrival of November comes Paris’ winter transformation, and the City of Light outdoes itself as the most beautiful monuments around the city are illuminated, and Christmas décor adorns the Parisian streets. The department stores in themselves become a spectacle, as the three largest in Paris; Galeries Lafayette, Printemps and Bon Marche compete with one another to have the most impressive window display (and impressive they are). A stay at Hotel Amarante Beau Manoir with its convenient location in the heart of the 8th Arrondissement places you on the doorstep to all of the Christmas magic Paris has to offer, making it impossible not to have a Joyeux Noel.
Classical Music at La Sainte Chapelle
8th November – 31st December
Located just a short walk away from Hotel Amarante Beau Manoir, is La Sainte Chapelle; one of the crown jewels of France’s many Gothic treasures which this winter is host to a jam-packed classical music schedule. Hear the revered works of Mozart, Albinoni, Handel, Vivaldi, Pergolesi, Bach, Schubert, Gounod, Caccini, Vitali, Pachelbel, Verdi, and Purcell as they are recreated by the prestigious Paris Classik Orchestra and Classik Ensemble.
Though smaller than its cousin, Notre-Dame; the Sainte Chapelle is regarded by many as the only venue to enjoy classical music in Paris, and this winter you have a variety of ways in which to do so. Choose from a standard ticket or VIP ticket option, in which the latter permits you to enjoy a glass of champagne at a local brasserie. Alternatively, opt for the Dinner and Concert option and enjoy a gourmet two-course meal at ‘Les Deux Palais’, located just steps from the chapel.
An evening at Sainte Chapelle with its intimate atmosphere and unrivalled beauty is an evening to be treasured. A highlight is undoubtedly Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’, and though you are likely all too familiar with the work, the four violin concertos take on a new light within the chapel, as the instrumental sounds of thunder, ice, bird song and renewal are brought to life by the unique acoustics that only the Sainte Chapelle produces. You can hear the movement of the melodies as they navigate the chamber, bouncing off the 1,113 stained glass windows (which are a spectacle themselves), which makes for a euphonious listening experience.
The Sainte Chapelle truly is an experience to be marvelled, and with performances through until January, the Festive Season is as good a time as any to visit, as the seamless amalgamation of classical music and endearing architecture resonate Christmas in abundance.

Discover everything from clothing, toys and ornaments, through to warm seasonal delicacies that will help to combat the cool Parisian air.
Champs-Elysees Christmas Market also provides a riches of entertainment, and children will find an array of amusements to keep them occupied should you be with your family this winter. Little ones will be elated by the sight of Santa as his sleigh is elevated 20 metres into the air, and they can skate the day/night away at the onsite ice-skating rink, located a mere 8 minute walk away from Hotel Amarante Beau Manoir. If you still have energy left after all that, make sure you visit the world’s biggest Ferris wheel for the best views of Paris.
